Movie Review: The Expendables 2

Sometimes a girl just wants to see a movie  where shit blows up.

Keira-isms, part one

These are straight off my FB page, but I want to make sure that someday they get into her baby book. Keira: I want to get a horn dog with Uncle Tommy (at the M Fest) CORN dog, Keira!!! It's called a corn dog ************************************************   Me: Keira, how did you get that? I told you yesterday you couldn't have that. Keira: Well Daddy was on the computer. ************************************************  Me: Keira, you need to pick up. Keira: No, I'm Cinderella. She doesn't pick up. Obviously she hasn't seen the movie. *************************************************  Keira: How do you spell 'daddy'? Me: D-A... Keira: That's not how! It's starts with K like mine!!! (Keith) ************************************************* "Upon walking in the door from work, Keira tells me: 'Mommy you have to stay away from vampires.' Obviously she has no idea who I am." ***************************************...

Happiness is the right decor

Over the weekend, I blogged about  the table Keith built me:   The Handy Hubby, Episode 1 . Can I just say again how much I love this table? Now of course, the table won't always look so pretty.  In fact, before I went to bed on Saturday night,  I took off the silver tray, glass jar filled with shells, and vintage Nancy Drew books  and put them away because the actual point of this table is  that the kids needed some place to store their toys.   I don't like just looking at a plain table while I figure out  some kid-friendly things to keep on top.   So yesterday morning,  I had about 10 minutes home alone and decorated the table like this: And last night, after working over-time,  I came home to the table decorated just for mommy: I think this last shot is my favorite one. ♥

Mason Jar Obsession

I love mason jars. They are just empty jars waiting for me to fill them with something. At the end of the school year, I made a gift for Connor's teacher with one.  However, Mr. Coupon Keith was upset to find that you had to buy a case of twelve mason jars. I told him not to worry. I'd find a use for them. ;) M&M Teacher Gift Button jars (for disciplining the kids) Cute organizers for Keira's hair stuff (I also took one and put my barrettes in it.) I've had this display in the downstairs bathroom for a long time. The kids' "I'm bored" jar My sister was jealous of all my mason jar fun, so I put her birthday gifts in one: a reusable bag that folds into a ladybug, a turtle charm, and a coupon for movie night (Magic Mike!!!) Lemonade. Or is it a mojito? I'll never tell. ;)

The Handy Hubby, Episode 1

I've been struggling with storage for our living room ever since we bought our new couch.  I wanted Keith to build me something, but I wasn't exactly sure what.   Recently one of my wonderful friends on FB (but for the life of me, I can't remember who) pinned a really cool table for a playroom. I printed out the picture and handed it to Keith with some notes: One week later... Voila! Now for the record, the scene is staged. The room never looks this nice with 3 kids running around. And the table has a wide overhang so the kids can pull up chairs and color. But still, I'm really happy to have such a handy hubby.

My dream home

I've been having a lot of fun on pinterest and with Country Living magazine, making requirements for my dream house.  Here are just a few: I've always dreamed of a house with a tower Front porch Library in the tower
