ME

Last week, I was off of work two days. One, an unscheduled sick day. The other, a very scheduled, very needed mental health day. (Plus I had to use up my personal day before the end of our year, June 30.)

It was just the break I needed.

First, the kids' stuff:

Mismatch Day at Preschool

Kindergarten Graduation
Beach Party Night at Colin's Speech School
Now for the "ME" stuff:
I gardened
(Is that even a word?)

I prettied up the deck
I went for a run
I ate a healthy lunch.
ALONE.
WITH A BOOK.

I got out my summer clothes
and organized my closet.

I read some more.
I snuck in an AWESOME movie with my husband.

We had popcorn

When the kids came home from school, I felt refreshed.

It was something I hadn't felt in months.

So glad for some me time before we start on our summer bucket list.

I'm jealous of your organized closet! Mine is more like "Monica's closet" ;)

Now that's the way to spend your ME days!

I still visit all the time, even though I hardly ever comment anymore, but I really giggled at preschool mismatch day. I let my preschooler pick out her own clothes a lot, so almost every day is preschool mismatch day for us. :)

Sounds like just what you needed! That breath of fresh air and feeling refreshed is SO necessary! So glad you got some time to yourself =)

I always feel like I've had a nice break if I can eat lunch and read a book uninterrupted. Good for you!

That sounds like a great way to refresh. It's always nice to get some time alone to recharge!
I found you through the Multiples and More link up today. :)

I had a "me" day a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome! By the end of the day, I felt more rested than if I had taken a nap. Funny how that works. :) So glad you were able to get one!
Stopping by from Multiples and More. :) Sounds like a fantastic day!!! It's great you were able to balance some productivity with some relaxation.

My 3 1/2-year old twins will be starting preschool in the fall (six hours a week in total). While it's bittersweet, I'm looking forward to a bit of "me" time, too!

Hope you have a great summer with your family!

We almost went to see that movie - I'm kind of bummed that we didn't go . . .

I'm glad that you were refreshed. I can't remember the last time I felt that way!

I'm curious, though - what book are you reading? :)
