My husband

Today over at Mama Kat's, one of the writing prompts is:
Something unique you love about your significant other.

There are lots of things that I love about my husband:
  1. He builds me whatever I want - credenza, book case, clubhouse for the kids....
  2. He doesn't complain when I buy pretty things.
  3. He does the dishes.
  4. He makes dinner.
  5. He gets up at night with the kids.
  6. He does home improvement projects without complaint - example: new kitchen cupboards, because one day I decided I wanted new ones.
  7. He built us a second bathroom!
The list could go on and on.

But one unique thing that I love about him is........

He voluntarily takes all three children grocery shopping, so that I can have some quiet time at home!

Just commenting from Mama Kat's. I am a little jealous that your husband cooks! Are we talking about full meals here, or the barbequing that my husband does? Not that I'm complaining, because my husband making burgers is better than me having to cook some nights, but I'm always in awe of husbands who cook full out nice meals. :)

Oh man can he come train mine! he doesn't dare take more than one child out the house alone. And I've got the same crew as you! :)

My husband was afraid of being alone with our children until they were at least 6. He will take them all shopping now, but they are 14, 12, and 9.

Book Review...and a Giveaway!!!

I was lucky enough to win an ARC of When the Rogue Returns  from Sabrina Jeffries herself! I couldn't wait to read it.  After reading the first book in The Duke's Men series, What the Duke Desires , I was excited to see that this next book was about Victor Cale. In  When the Rogue Returns , Victor Cale is headed to Scotland to investigate a woman, Sofie Franke.  He has his suspicions that this woman is actually Isabella, his wife who disappeared on him ten years before.  He has spent the last decade searching to bring her to justice after she stole the royal jewels and left him to behind to deal with the authorities.  Isabella Cale, now known as Sofie Franke, has built a new life for herself and her ten-year old daughter after her husband ran off with the royal jewels. Are you intrigued yet? Victor and Isa's first meeting was great! Both blame the other for the missing jewels, and both are greatly suspicious of the other's motives.  Despite ...

I'm not a perfect mom, I just play one on my blog

I read a blog recently that talked about food.  The mom was very careful to say she buys farm-fresh food, only organic fruits and veggies, blah blah blah.  Then she added how she fed her child a hot dog.  But she couldn't just say hot dog.  She had to specify it was nitrate free, turkey based, something or other. But why? Who cares? Is she so afraid of being judged for giving her child a real hot dog that she must waste precious words of her post making it damn clear that it was a super-healthy hot dog? Let me stand up and be the first to say I feed my kids real hot dogs.  Well all-beef ones, but still.  I didn't cloth diaper, not because I don't care about the environment, but because I'm lazy, and it's gross to me.  However, I am planning on buying some cloth pull-ups because it's cheaper......... I didn't exclusively breast-feed, and my kids turned out fine. My kids have ketchup almost every night at dinner. My kids eat McDonalds. ...

It's the most wonderful time of the year....

The countdown to Hallowe'en begins! Please note this is not the actual number of days until Hallowe'en. The picture was taken two days ago. The house is totally decorated, although I still could use a few more things ;) One of the cool new decorations I bought this year are these Halloween Pumpkin Wall Decals from Kohls.  I love them!  My structured, OCD self feels the mantle is too cluttered, but the spooky side of me just doesn't care. ;) How do you decorate for Hallowe'en?
