Time goes by so fast...

...and I can't believe that in another six months the twins will be 1 and Connor will be 3!

When I think about what my life was like a year ago, I can't believe how much has changed since then. Last January, I still thought I was pregnant with just one baby. Connor was 18 months old and not talking. And now, I've got two babies who are rolling around on the floor and trying to sit up. Connor's language skills seem to be improving everyday, and he is constantly trying new things and surprising us with what he can do.

It's amazing watching my children grow. I never thought I would enjoy being a mommy this much. The smiles that I get from the babies when I wake them up in the morning and hearing Connor say "Morning, Momma" when I go into his room are the best parts of my day.

The Cindy Tote - A Review

I have been wanting a new work bag for, well, ever. In fact, I told Keith recently that I really wanted the Thirty-One Cindy tote, but couldn't justify the price at this time. He mentioned that since I had been complaining about this for well over two years, I could use part of our tax refund to get a bag for myself. I was super excited, but wanted to make sure it was going to be money well spent.

I emailed my wonderful friend, MB, who confirmed that yes, the Cindy tote was a great bag, and..... there was a great deal going on this month as well!

*Please excuse the cell phone pictures, our computer is still broken and I (meaning Keith and the mess that his desk) still cannot find the camera cord.

The front.  Isn't it pretty?
And no, I swear I did not hug the bag  out of happiness when  I first took it out of the box.

The inside has one zippered pocket,  as well as three deep open pockets.   There is nothing I like more than a bag with lots of pockets.

Here it is filled with my …

2018 Musings

I'm the kind of girl who, at 40 years of age, still calls herself a girl. I'm an organized person living in a cluttered house with child hoarders who keep tiny pieces of paper and use scotch tape liberally on empty toilet paper rolls, er I mean, swords.  I can't figure out why there are stickers on my couch because my twins are in 4th grade. I wish we had a house with a mudroom or a closet or a nook, just so my husband can stash all his running/biking/etc stuff there instead of on his kitchen chair. I just started wearing a plum colored lipstick and realize how much better I look even though according to the fashion magazines, my skin tone is warm and I should wear browns instead. I'm currently wondering how to respond to one of my child's teachers who reached out about the fact that he's acting up in class... and his response - "I want to have a social worker like _____ because he gets to take breaks and play with putty." My daughter took a Chicago H…

The Memory Keeper

A long, long time ago (maybe 2002?), these two kids went to the Shedd Aquarium. Pre-kids, of course. In fact, they had only been dating about a year. (If you don't count the break someone thought he needed. *insert eye roll*)
The girl bought a cute little-penguins-dancing-in-water keepsake, which she kept on her desk at work for many years. Until she moved to a new building and her office had a window.

But alas, nothing lasts forever, especially plastic with what is probably some sort of toxic chemical keeping the penguins afloat which decided to leak out all over the windowsill...and today the girl had to throw out her keepsake.

But (to sadly quote Metallica *insert even larger eye roll here as the girl hates the band*), the memory remains.
